I own Office V.X and Virtual PC 5.0.4, and I'm eager to upgrade both! I've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Office 2004 Professional Edition so I can upgrade one time, while keeping my costs down. But now, Microsoft has announced that VPC 7 won't be available until "the second half of 2004". But I really don't want to wait that long before I upgrade to Office 2004!
I'm interested in suggestions for upgrade strategies for getting both products at the lowest price. Interestingly, Mac Connection's description for "Office 2004 for Mac Professional Upgrade" includes "Virtual PC for Mac Version 7". Has anyone heard about special offers for buying "Office 2004 for Mac Professional Upgrade" now ($290), with a free upgrade to VPC 7 when it's available? Or, would it be smarter to buy "Office 2004 for Mac Standard Upgrade", then just separately upgrade my VPC 5 to VPC 7 sometime later?
