Right, But some companies - like Apple - are more secretive and absolutely
forbid the resellers to start selling before the official release date, even
though the units have arrived. Whenever a reseller "forgets" about this
injunction and sells early, it hits the Rumor sites in a big way and
probably gets the reseller in trouble. Here MS (and quite possibly most
manufacturers) don't try to police what's probably going to be a losing
battle. So we get this disjunct where it's not yet officially released but
it is definitely out there, so it feels more peculiar to those who still
have to keep some things secret.

Have you ever tried to prevent resellers selling before official release
date? Did it work?
