FYI:  The problem Gay is having with cursor display suggests that she is in
OS 9.x, Entourage 2001.  This is a known bug for which there is no permanent
cure.  The usual workaround is to move the cursor to the far right or left
of the screen.  That will usually force the cursor to assume the correct
display.  

In all cases except one, the display does not affect the functioning of the
cursor.  IOW, even if it looks like a beach ball, it will still function
like an arrow.  

The one exception is the hand.  In order to be able to click on a link and
have it work, you must force the cursor to assume the hand display.
Sometimes moving the cursor to right or left doesn't work.  In that case,
clicking on the desktop and then back to Entourage may work.  Quitting and
relaunching Entourage may help as well.

I don't see the "hand problem" often but when it does show up, it's the
hardest one to cure for some reason.
