Title: Fix for the nonworking "Send Mail Now" keyboard shortcut
As reported earlier, it seems some Entourage 2004 users are finding that Command-Return often doesn’t send the email that you’re working in.
The odd thing was, I was getting a fairly repetitious pattern: hit the Command-Return keys REALLY hard exactly 3 times, and the email would send. The problem is (besides looking silly, according to my wife who was staring at me) that it didn’t always work. Sometimes, the email would send by the second pounding, and the third would put Entourage into some new fun action.
After beating the crap out of my new G5 keyboard thusly (Apple actually sent a new one after I mistakenly suggested some keys weren’t working) I have found a workaround, but it does require a Macro program. I’m use QuicKeys.
It’s simple and just as you’d expect: just set QuicKeys to recognize Command-Key and tie to the Menu:Message: Send Message Now. In other words, selecting the Menu method of works.
Hope this helps some other poor bastard who’s wife is staring at them each time an email needs sending.
