Just starting to play with the new Projects feature in E'rage 2004, and wanting to see how the rest of you are handling emails associated with a Project.

Let’s say you have a 5-day business trip. You get an email confirmation from United. That triggers the idea that you need to create a project. Right-click: Create New Project. You get a new project going. But then, what do you do with this United email? Where does it then reside?

It resides in your database :)

There are several possibilities for mail in a project. When you create a project you are asked to create or select a mail folder as a Watch Folder. Any message in this folder will be available within the project window. You are also prompted for a Watch Folder for the file system, where you can store files, or aliases, that you wish to have available from within the project window. Returning the mail side, you can associate mail from any contacts listed in the project and you can associate mail that has certain subjects. You can add in to the project mail items that already exist within Entourage but are not in the Watch Folder.

So, your confirmation from United resides wherever it is at the moment. What the Project Centre provides is a unified view of many disparate items. The Project Centre itself does not move things; that is a job for rules. Rather, it gathers up pieces from all over and lays it out all nice and tidy for you.
