OK, that's what I was wondering - especially if some severs can search and
others can't. The reason I was asking is that people have often requested
the possibility of checking at least for attachment names and extensions to
allow them to delete and not download a message if there's a chance it might
be a virus. Server-side checking would be the only way to do that, so this
intrigued me. If the IMAP message would have to be downloaded first to
check, there's not much point. While Message Body and Attachments criteria
would still be as handy to have in IMAP as in POP, it's certainly less
important than it would be if this could be discerned while still on the
server.
