I'm sorry about this subject line - couldn't think of how to summarize this question :-). I have my inbox sorted by date received, with the newest at the top. If I read the top (newest) message and then move down to the next one, without deleting the newest message, then delete the second one down, the top message (newest, but already read) will be highlighted and displayed in the preview pane. I'd prefer to have the next unread message displayed. I assume that I could display only unread messages and then the next message shown in the preview pane would be the next oldest unread message, but I'm keeping that newest message I already read in the inbox because I don't want to forget about it, and hiding it is not going to promote that :-).
So, is there any way to specify the order in which messages are shown in the preview pane when you delete a message from a list? What I've started doing to work around this is to start reading messages from the bottom - so I read the oldest unread message first. Then when I delete a message the next oldest unread message appears, although even that doesn't always work because sometimes the time in "sent" doesn't seem to correlate with the order in which I received things, so a message I've read can get sorted in between two unread messages. And I'd really rather read newest messages first. -- Jan Martel in Davis, CA G4PB 15" Al; System 10.3.2, 9.2.2 (?) -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
