The idea is to run the test with everything else disabled so you won't get overwhelmed. Since it's a connection problem, the data will show up right away. It really is easy, just try it. I was having problems uploading files. GoLive would just stall. I had no idea until I starting monitoring the traffic what was going on. I tried other ftp clients and received similar errors about password or name. I eventually found out that the server was just plain finicky.
