Just found that IMAP Server Search within subfolders doesn't work, if the
selected folder (the root folder for the search) is a locked folder
containing no messages. You cannot create such a folder with Erage but you
can with other clients or directly on the IMAP server. Erage displays a lock
symbol on that folder to indicate, you cannot store messages in it, it is
just a container for other folders. The search silently fails without giving
an error message, so you likely misinterpret it as there would be no
messages in the subfolders that match your query.

Unfortunately you cannot select multiple subfolders to do the IMAP Server
Search. So you only may go back in the folder hierarchy to a real folder or
to the IMAP root folder to start your search, which may lead to a lot of
unwanted hits, or convert all your locked folders to real folders.

If you try to do this within Erage, another bug hits you. Doing this by
creating a new folder with the same name as the locked folder crashes Erage.
Happily, after relaunching Erage the change has been made successfully.
If you feel uncomfortable by that crash, the only other way you can do this
is to rename the locked folder, create a new one and the move all subfolders
into the new folder, then trashing the old locked folder.

Sent bug report to MS.
