Title: A few questions on shared projects
Hi all,
I'm hoping to use shared projects in Entourage 2004 to allow my wife and I to see each other's calendar, task list, notes, etc. I've set up a shared project on her machine and I've subscribed to it from mine; it looks like this does the job. I have a few questions, though, which Entourage Help doesn't seem to answer.
First, I noticed that it sometimes took a while for changes on one machine to be visible on the other. (On occasion I had to quit and restart Entourage on a machine to 'encourage' it to read the shared project file again.) Can one control the speed / frequency at which synchronization occurs? What is the default frequency? Can one kick off the synchronization manually? Is there a way to create a schedule for it?
Second, it seemed like items that we shared were losing their category when they showed up on the other's machine. We're currently using different category sets. If we make sure our categories are the same, will a shared item keep its assigned category wherever it's shared, or does each person have control over its category on their own machine?
Third, I read somewhere that associating email with a shared project doesn't copy it to the shared file, so other users of the project still can't see it. Is there a way around that that's easier than turning the email into a note?
Thanks,
Mark
