Title: Does upgrading place the MUD on the desktop?
I have a newly switched Mac friend who is running Office 2001 (not 2004). She called today in a panic. After upgrading to I think the Service Release 1, she restarted, and upon opening Entourage, came up with a new blank Identity.
She phoned me and I had her do an Everywhere search for a Microsoft User Data folder. There were two: one in the Docs folder, and one on the Desktop. After checking the sizes, it was easy to see that the MUD folder on the desktop was the one with all her emails, and the one in the Docs folder was the empty new one.
It's been awhile (I'm on 2004), but my question: did the updater do this? She swears that she hasn't ever move her MUD folder, but I sure can't remember any Office or Entourage updater moving it to the desktop like that.
