You were right that I had already tried a new identity. I hadn't realized
that it was this easy to get rid of preferences, etc. I ran "Remove Office"
and removed all the Office X things, leaving Office 2004, and so far so good
(this morning's mail got removed from the server when I deleted it from my
regular Entourage. I'm going to wait a few days before claiming this is
totally solved, but I'm definitely hopeful! Once again, this mailing list
seems to have done better than MS tech support :-). Thank you.
