A large percentage of the users I support are having trouble with duplicate
messages and messages that won't delete on our company IMAP accounts in
Entourage 2004. Repairing the message list fixes the duplicates and stubborn
messages until some time later when the problem returns (for some users it
is immediately). The Database is reportedly fine.

This was only a very occasional problem in Entourage v.X. It is *not* all
users, so I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to fix it.

The standard setup has been IMAP accounts with Live Sync active for their
Inbox only. The Send & Receive All schedule is set to check the Inbox for
either Headers Only or New Messages (neither setting seems to make a
difference for the problem) every 10 minutes (this is automatically set when
setting up the account). "Send commands to server simultaneously" is
checked.

I suspect that the issue is due to having Live Sync active AND having a
schedule check the account as well, but, like I said, not everyone
experiences a problem. I thought I'd narrowed a fix down to turning off the
schedule, allowing the messages to completely download, repairing the
message list and then turning the schedule back on. This seems to have fixed
the issue for some users, but a few others are still plagued by the
duplicate messages and messages that won't delete.

Anyone else seeing this? Any suggestions?
