On the other hand, I'm pretty sure that if you set options for a folder and then create subfolders in it, those subfolders will inherit all the settings from the parent folder. Apparently (no pun intended), this happens only at the time of folder creation; later settings are unique to the folder. So there is no way to change them all at once. The Entourage AppleScript dictionary has no entries under folder for anything like "Show in Groups".

Perhaps, if you temporarily move all the folders into another top-level folder, change options for the top folder, and then move them back???
