Title: Re: Entourage problems
I have tried running the “Repair Keychain” several times. The last time it said that everything was all right. I have also run disk permissions. I have not tried to repair the database yet. I hope that it is not too much trouble as I am more or less a novice when it comes to a lot of this stuff. Even after doing to the two repairs that I did do, the same problem still persists just as bad. In fact, when that message comes up and I click to not apply, it is very persistent and keeps popping up and even causes Entourage to become inactive.

I doubt it -- I did the "copy the folder" method myself, and it works just fine. Sounds like either a corrupted Keychain or perhaps a        database issue.

KEYCHAIN FIRST AID:
  1. Launch Keychain Access (found in your Utilities folder), and from the Window menu, select Keychain First Aid.
  2. Enter your password, make sure 'Verify' is selected, then click 'Start'
  3. If any errors occur (they'll be in red), redo step 2, but click 'Repair' instead.

REPAIR DATABASE:
  1. Read a good set of instructions here: http://www.entourage.mvps.org/database/corrupt.html

Subject: Entourage problems

I have a question to ask you about Entourage. It is in Microsoft Office
2004. The problem that I have run into has to do with a message that I
received after an update. I get the message that says that Microsoft Office
has been updated and moved. Do you want to apply the changes to the
keychain. This will change all of the items in the keychain. I am given two
choices, apply or don't apply. When I chose apply, Entourage freezes up when
I open it. In fact, the only part that opens up is the starting splash
screen. Not only does Entourage freeze up, my password stops working. I have
to restart the computer, but in order to do so, I first have to force quit
Entourage. When the computer restarts, the password works again.

This is a shot in the dark but could it possible be that Microsoft Office
was not originally installed on this machine, and the installer was not used
to install it on this machine. It was just copied over from a CD-ROM.
