What do you mean by ‘it messed up every downstream rule’? You know there is an option in the MLM for each entry to either allow or disallow rules to run on mailing list messages? Have you checked that this is set to allow other rules to run?
I wish it was easy to look over your shoulder and see your setup. Many people don’t understand Rules and the MLM is the easiest way to create a rule that will have the correct criteria. It’s the personal rules that can be the unknown “fly in the ointment.”
If you want to send me some screen shots off list of your rules, I can take a look. I would need to see the rule window so I can see the order of the rules and a shot of each rule.
