Create a new Entourage 2004 identity (Entourage > Switch Identity) and then import the old saved identity (File > Import). Trying to open old identities as if they were Entourage 2004 identities doesn't work.
Also, you should apply the latest Office 2004 update:
Download and install the latest Office 2004 update, which is Office 2004 Service Pack 1. Service Pack 1 includes a number of fixes that are documented in this article on the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
<http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=883951>
In Office 2004, use Microsoft AutoUpdate to get the latest updates. From any Office application, go to Help > Check for Updates (or manually launch Microsoft AutoUpdate from the Applications folder). If any updates are needed, they will display in a sheet, at which point you can check them and press the "Install" button to download and install them.
Updates can also be found at the Microsoft web site:

(By the way, could you please consider sending your messages in a smaller font size or in plain text? I find myself needing to decrease the font size on many of your messages to make them comfortable for me to read.)

I have several saved identities from last year and before. When I dragged them into Entourage 2004 I get an “end of file reached” message even though they are many MG, and the database gets rebuilt far too quickly for it to be happening ( which doesn’t happen because I can’t open ANY of them!)
I looked at Mactopia and read where it said to trash the preferences. However, that was an option with only 2 of them, and it didn’t make a difference.
Is there any way I can access this information, I don’t mind what format...
Running X 3.6 on a G4 PB laptop with 1 G RAM.
Thank you
