The ability to suppress downloading of images selectively was added in
Entourage 2004. I'm not sure how it worked in Entourage 2001, which
was for OS 9. I believe there was a preference in which you could turn
off image downloading globally. But that turned it off for messages
where you wanted them, and once downloaded, there was no way to get
the images! So it was an unacceptable option. IMO there was no good
way until Entourage 2004. One more reason to upgrade.
