Have you run any utilities besides FSCK? From what I've been reading, since the file system has gone journaled by default, FSCK is not a good way to fix the file system. Disk Warrier or Techtool Pro is a better choice, and there's a new one I saw at Macworld that even modifies partitions on the fly that claimed to be be more effective than the other two.
