I'm still struggling with some repeated downloads of messages (see previous thread: Repeated Download form One Account, jan. 14-19) - now from two accounts. It only happens occasionally and I can't seem to find any specific pattern From what I can read in this thread it could have something to do with the database's checkiong of these internal headers, although I _have_ tried rebuilding the database.
I never figured out if there was an actual conclusion/solution on the previous thread, so if anybody that read that one or is reading this one can tip me to a way to avoid these repeated downloads, I'd be grateful Thanks a lot Carsten > From: Barry Wainwright <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Reply-To: "Entourage:mac Talk" <[email protected]> > Date: Sat, 05 Feb 2005 19:34:37 +0000 > To: "Entourage:mac Talk" <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: Another rebuilding tip > > We don't know for sure, but I expect that the database internally stores the > ids of messages that are left on server, and checks the headers of each > message before downloading it. > > This internal table is deleted when the database is rebuilt. > > -- > Barry Wainwright > Microsoft MVP (see http://mvp.support.microsoft.com for details) > Seen the All-New Entourage Help Pages? - Check them out: > <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/> > > >> From: revDAVE <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >> Reply-To: "Entourage:mac Talk" <[email protected]> >> Date: Sat, 05 Feb 2005 11:14:55 -0800 >> To: "Entourage:mac Talk" <[email protected]> >> Subject: Re: Another rebuilding tip >> >> BTW: This has always been a mystery to me - does anybody know what " field >> " e-mail programs store the information for which e-mail's are new and which >> e-mail's have previously been downloaded ( So they do not download >> duplicates before they are deleted from the server)? >> >> Or - is it some global parameter - that stores the exact last second that >> they download from the server - so that when it goes to get new stuff it >> starts at particular time of when the server received mail - or something >> like that? >> >> >> -- >> Thanks - RevDave >> [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> [db-lists] >> >> >> -- >> To unsubscribe: >> <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >> archives: >> <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> >> old-archive: >> <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/> >> > > > -- > To unsubscribe: > <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > archives: > <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> > old-archive: > <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/> > -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
