It has always allowed HTML in the past, and that's how most of us sent in scripts to avoid hard carriage returns interrupting long lines. > > No, in the past, html was allowed, I know cause someone jumped on me about > replying plain text to his scripts :-) That would have been me. I hadn't noticed, but the same thing happened to an HTML message I sent in on Feb. 14. But I have a few older messages to this list saved - several HTML messages from Sept 2004 through January 2005. The latest HTML messages from this list were two from Richard Shane and Robert Fairbairn on Feb 1 2005. Sometime shortly afterwards HTML was removed. Up until Feb 1, list messages had this header: List-Software: LetterRip Pro 4.05b10 by LetterRip Software, LLC. >From Feb.2, they have List-Software: LetterRip Pro 4.05b13 by LetterRip Software, LLC. The first message sent with the new list software was Eddie Hargreaves's "Kudos to MBU for Junk Mail Filter" sent on 01 Feb 2005 22:30:58 PST but received by lists.letterrip.com on Wed, 2 Feb 2005 08:53:19 PST, a 10 hour delay indicative of maintenance on the server in that time. I suspect that stripping HTML coincides, or came just after, the new list software. So why is HTML being stripped now, Jud? If it was inadvertent, can you please restore it? I recall there was another problem with the list not accepting digital sigs, which it saw as attachments, I haven't tried recently, but I don't recall seeing any, so I don't suppose there's been any change there. It means we can't send scripts successfully on this list any more. Ironically, the AppleScript-Users mailing list now does allow HTML, only since November or so. We can still send HTML on the Entourage news group, but the problem there is that people reading the newsgroup on Google in a web browser get all the HTML non-ASCII characters mangled, which is worse. -- Paul Berkowitz MVP MacOffice Entourage FAQ Page: <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq/index.html> AppleScripts for Entourage: <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/> PLEASE always state which version of Microsoft Office you are using - **2004**, X or 2001.
