David, perhaps I confused you with the title of my message. As I said at the
end, what I want to do is send the SAME message to hundreds of people. So
Paul's script is exactly what I need.

Sending a personalised form letter is NOT what I want to do--I suppose
mainly because when the few times when I send a message like this, everyone
KNOWS it's a mass message, so why pretend?

Anyway, sounds like you solved your first problem; hope that you too can
benefit from Paul's solution to mine.
