As of last week, Safari bounces upon clicking an html link, the beach ball

addresses into Internet Explorer to get to desired change.

How do I change my default browser to Internet Explorer? Any ideas for
solving my non-starting safari browser? It basically won't launch.

Thanks

If you can't start Safari, you would need to download a different program to set IE or Firefox as your default browser. (You could download Default Apps or More Internet to do this.)

A better bet is to repair permissions to see if that doesn't help get Safari running again. To do that, run the Disk Utility from your startup disk and choose to repair permissions on your startup drive.

If that doesn't work, you could download Preferential Treatment and check your user prefs. Safari's could be corrupted and prevent a launch.

If all of that fails, try setting up a new user on your machine to check if Safari runs for that user ID. If it does, then there are more problems in your user directory. If it does not run, you would need to re-install Safari. Ask again about how to do that if you need to.

Good luck.
