It sounds as though you are describing a preference setting. In office vX it was possible to turn off display of grapohics and the downloading of images on remote servers in the prefs. IN v2004 these settings are under the 'security' tab, I don't remember where they were in vX.
A new security feature in Entourage 2004 blocks the display of pictures (and other linked mail content) hosted on remote sites. Images can be loaded for individual messages by clicking on the Download Pictures link in the yellow message status bar. This was a huge feature request from users that found the all embracing All Pictures or No Pictures too limiting. There is a setting in the security section of the preferences to automatically download pictures from recipients who are in your address book. That should suffice for most users. If you really want to download all images from all sources, you can put ".com", ".net", ".org" etc to your list of safe domains in the Junk Mail Protection dialog. Then, images from all untrustworthy sources will be downloaded. -- Barry Wainwright Microsoft MVP (see http://mvp.support.microsoft.com for details) Seen the All-New Entourage Help Pages? - Check them out: <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/> > From: Jack Countryman <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Reply-To: "Entourage:mac Talk" <[email protected]> > Date: Mon, 02 May 2005 23:28:54 -0500 > To: "Entourage:mac Talk" <[email protected]> > Subject: Remove script? > > Sometime back, a co-worker was using a slower/older powerbook apparently > with minimal ram to run OSX, etc. To help speed things up in entourage, > they apparently installed some sort of 'script' to stop the initial loading > of pictures contained in or attached to emails received.
