Using default Verdana 12

Title: Using default Verdana 12

I usually just run with the default font (ie. Verdana 12) when creating messages using Entourage.

I’ve had a couple of people tell me that they know when I’ve used my Mac because, for instance, apostrophes appear as the number 1, things like that. I have seen evidence of this also, when someone replies to me.

I’m wondering, is Verdana a problem font? Is it because perhaps Verdana isn’t a font that everyone has installed? (I don’t know whether it is or isn’t – just a guess). I realise I can probably just change the default font, but will that fix the problem?

Any tips/feedback appreciated.
