I am having an efficiency issue keeping both Entourage and Address Book
synced at the same time I try to keep my desktop and laptop synced. I
wonder if some change to my workflow would help.

Here is the situation. Since I got a new desktop machine a week or so ago,
each morning I copy my Entourage 2004 identities folder from my desktop to
my laptop, and every evening after work I copy it back. This works just
fine as far as Entourage is concerned. However, for some time I have also
been using Paul's Entourage/Address Book script(s) to keep my Address Book
current with my Entourage contacts, and I run this fairly often. What I
find happening now is whenever I run the script to sync Address Book, the
script syncs ALL my contacts, not just the ones I have recently changed.
This sync, of course, takes a long time to complete.

I assume this is not a bug in the script, but a consequence of my moving the
Identities back and forth. Seems like when I copy the identity from machine
to machine, this appears to the sync scripts as an update to every contact.
I wonder if there is a good way to avoid this constant lengthy address book
re-syncing, while still keeping everybody happily on the same page,
data-wise.

I don't think this is a complication, but am running 10.4.1 on the desktop
and 10.3.9 on the laptop.

Thanks,

James
