I'm running OS 10.4.1 on three Macs: iMac G4, iBook G3 and eMac. Never had a Kernel panic on any of them -- running Panther and Jaguar -- before upgrading to Tiger from 10.3.9. Now the iMac and iBook panic at every shutown. The only significant difference between the three computers is that the iMac and iBook use Office 2004/Entourage for email; the eMac uses Apple Mail.
I've been able to reproduce the problem at will: If I don't launch E'rage, no panic. If if use E'rage, panic sets in. Doesn't make a difference if E'rage is running when I try to shut down or if I've quit it first -- as long as it's been launched, the computers panic at shutdown; no launch, no panic. Anyone have any suggestions? Could this be the result of database corruption?
