Hi Lorin,

Hello??????? (And I guess Jud skipped that "4 GB" claim.)

Beth, you've been sleeping. ;-) The Entourage 2004 database effectively has no size limit whatsoever – theoretically it's so enormous that there's no computer large enough. I've forgotten the exact "limit" – it's somewhere in the vicinity of 64 billion billion GB, or something like that, or maybe it's "only" 64 billion terabytes. Somewhere in that vicinity.

The actual limit is 2 million items, but every message is 2 items, and nearing that upper limit non-message items would be very few in comparison. So effectively the practical limit is about 1 million items, correct. But not 4 GB – that was Entourage X SR1, not Entourage 2004. One of the reasons why 2004 is so fast. I'm sure there are many readers of this list who have databases of over 4 GB (although they're likely to be people who don't check the size and don't realize it).

PLEASE always state which version of Microsoft Office you are using - **2004**, X  or 2001. It's often impossible to answer your questions otherwise.
