Thanks for the info. I have LOTS of stuff in all my boxes so will do some cleaning out.

When I was using 2001 (in OS 9.1), I *did* turn my computer off every day; IIRC it is advisable to do so, or at least every day or two.
Otherwise, I found that Entourage 2001 slowed down when my folders were way overstuffed. When this happened, I would clean out my Sent Items folder of everything I didn’t need and then weed out unnecessary mail from all of my other folders. Then I would empty (or nearly empty) my Deleted Items folder. That usually did it, but if things were still running slow, I would compact my database by doing a Typical Rebuild (hold down the Option key while launching Entourage). This would allow Entourage to reclaim all the space previously occupied by deleted messages.
Note: It is not advisable in Entourage 2001 to do Typical Rebuilds until/unless you need them. I think I did it maybe once or twice a year. Usually just cleaning out all the unneeded mail from my folders would speed Entourage up again.
