Would it be too soon to ask if the investigation has been completed? Unless it's related to one of Apple's Security Updates (which is the only client-side change that I think could be at all relevant), I would hope it should be fairly straightforward for the Hotmail people to review what changes were made server-side and test them against Entourage to figure out which one is causing the issue.
