Title: Connecting to server-endlessly
Recently, Entourage has been extremely slow in reconnecting to the server. The status message says “connecting to server,” which often lasts until I eventually do a force quit. At other times, I can’t get a message to open even though I might have just successfully opened another message. I haven’t had either problem in the past. I have a 1.6 Ghz G5 iMac with plenty of RAM, a cable modem, and Entourage 2004 with an IMAP set up. Often, when I have Entourage open, the computer processor starts speeding up to the point where it’s quite loud. Again, I end up having to force quit to get Entourage to shut down and the processor to return to normal.
Any ideas on what may be happening? I’ve verified, rebuilt, and compacted the database—no changes.
