If you are RUNNING the copy of the application that is in Templates, that could be the problem. I'd recommend deleting that copy and running the other. The temp folder should be in the Microsoft User Data folder; is that where yours is?
As a general rule, you should not alter the directory structure or move any of the files to different folders from where Office installs them; it confuses the software. Reinstalling would be a good thing, I think. It should not replace the Microsoft User Data folder, which is where your mail database lives, so it ought not to destroy any data.
