I have a strange problem here, no idea how to fix it. For about the past
month, people have been telling me they are not able to open attachments
from me. These can be simple jpgs, to zip files, whatever, its pretty
random. Being random, I suspected it was just them, and they were doing
something wrong.

Seems not to be the case, I just tried to send a crash log to a developer,
and he was not able to read it. I then zipped it, still no go. I am
assuming he knows what he is doing :-)

I had an outgoing rule to delete attachments that I thought may be causing
this issue, so I disabled it. That was not the problem.

I started sending tests to myself and my gmail account, its hit or miss,
sometimes it works, others it does not. In the cases where it does not,
gmail ends up with a 0 byte attachment, in the case of sending it to myself
in E-rage (2004 current as of today BTW) I end up with a corrupt jpg. I can
compare the base64 encoded bits, and there is one line that has been
changed, at least, in comparing the mail in my sent items to the one that
comes right back in.

Here is the strange part, if I make a new identity, same email user account,
the trouble seems to go away, so there is something corrupt with my
identity.

I then went back to my original identity, deleted the account and recreated
it, but the problem still persists.

I have a lot of filing rules, unless someone has any ideas on what to do to
fix this, I am fearful I will have to create a new identity and somehow
start over. If that is the case, whats the most painless way to do it?
