If you're referring to Josh's quote from MacEnterprise, it's pretty much
verbatim from the warning that comes up. I can send a screenshot to you
offlist if you like.

I think we've determined that it can happen with both the standalone updater
and through AutoUpdate.
 
As for older versions, I don't actively run v. X and haven't for well over
six months. The Microsoft Database Daemon now sitting in my Trash is v.
11.1.0 and I'm pretty sure I didn't have a phantom copy from X running all
this time.
