Because I get a lot of mail. Because I work 12+ hours a day, and I don't always take time to delete items manually during that day. Entourage is set to delete at Quit after two weeks, but sometimes the computer is up (and Entourage running) for longer than that. None of my messages are more than 3 weeks old in the Deleted Items.
