Four quick tabs, or a single shift-tab, then start typing - it will locate the segment of the mini address book where the last name starts with that letter - typing 2 or more letters quickly gets deeper in. You can't get to the Search box by tabbing, though. But the normal autocomplete method never did "contains' either - just first or last time.
