There IS no dictionary for MS Database Daemon or for Office Notifications. That made me wonder whether I could use AppleScript to terminate the MS Database Daemon (or alternatively, just Database Daemon - as it's sometimes called) within Activity Monitor. However, Activity Monitor isn't scriptable either, apparently. Thanks for your prompt reply.
