You have confused Microsoft AutoUpdate with OS X's built-in Software Update. You cannot tell Microsoft AutoUpdate to simply download an update like you can with Software Update. When she clicked the button of affirmation, whatever it was labeled, it downloaded and installed the update. Also, AFAIK, Microsoft AutoUpdate doesn't save the installation package on your HD.
