I have a user that has (for whatever reason) has like 30-40 events on given days (mostly holidays like New Years Eve or so) and they would like to clean up the calendar. The problem is that you don’t seem to be able to delete multiple calendar events (Shift-select or Command-select). Is there anyway to clean this up without having to delete one event at a time???

Use a custom view – you should have one set up by default called 'all events'. This will present the events in list format, then you can select multiple items.
