Allow me, Diane.

When you say “turn off sync”, how should I do that?

In Entourage's preferences, there is now a Sync Services option; where you can toggle on/off syncing contacts, calendars, and notes to/ from AddressBook, iCal, and dotMac.

I would then like to have Sync automatically create a new “Entourage” calendar in iCal. Of course there are other Macs on my network that have an “Entourage” calendar from synchronizing with the earlier one generated by Entourage. Do I need to delete all of those before I turn sync back on again?

Yes. Otherwise they'll be providing an Entourage calendar that syncs up to dotMac, and back down to this Mac (and the others).

When I’m ready to turn Sync back on again, how do I tell Entourage to overwrite iCal?

By having deleted the existing Entourage calendar in iCal.

Thanks so much,
Barry

You are most welcome.
