Title: Re: Idea for a CC Warning! Script
Check out my Split Recipients X script which lets you run it on just one message, and will send out multiples in batches of 50 (or any limit you specify) recipients as BCC. The simplest way would be to select your 2200 contacts, lick the Add Group button, and thus make them into a group, checking "Do not include email addresses". Then just address you message to the group and run the script after having set its limit preference to 50.
Direct answer: no, you cannot intercept the Send Now button by AppleScript, nor any other way. It can't be done that way.

Subject: Idea for a CC Warning! Script
I'm wondering if such a script for the following scenario is possible:
About once a month, I send out an email to my customers (about 2200 in my Entourage 2004 database), with some announcement. Because there's a limit to about 50 at a time, I hand-drag about 50 at a time into duplicate emails. But because there's no way to drag them directly into the BCC field, I have to first drag them into the CC field, and then again into the BCC field. I then send that email.
However, I will sometimes *forget* to drag them from the CC to BCC field, which is truly embarrassing, since all 50 of those emails is then viewable and exposed to the other receivers of that email. For me, this is mortifying.
I'm wondering if there's a script that could be written, that pops up a warning window, saying "Yo, idiot: there are more than XX number of email recipients in the CC field. You sure you want to send this email?" And then there would be a No and Send button.
I like the idea of a changeable XX number, since sometimes, I do send emails with about 6 or so email addresses in the CC field. It would be great to have that number adjustable.
Is this doable?
Thanks!
Scott
