The bottom line sorta seemed to be that when I upgraded to OS X, the problem might be fixed. I did that yesterday, but this afternoon I still had trouble sending/receiving email with the same error code. The corporate Earthlink woman told me when I last spoke with her (about 3 mos ago) that there’s some kind of misconnect between my computer and Earthlink. During one of these episodes, she tried accessing my email from her office (I have no idea how she did that since I’m NOT the least bit technical) and was able to do so with no problem.
This really drives me nuts. I’m using Entourage from Office 2001 but now that I have OS X I want to either get a newer version or get other email software. I really want to be able to send embedded photos, graphics and newsletters without attachments and have been told with Entourage 2004 I can do that. BUT, if I’m going to continue to have this time out problem, maybe I’ll seek other software to see if it will solve that problem. This problem only started a little over a year ago and until then I had NO problem using Entourage 2001. Nothing on my end changed that would have created the problem.
Any idea what gives?
And if I DO upgrade to Entourage 2004, can I get just that and not the whole Office thing?
