Oh ... but I want the suggestions .... in the suggestions list are
many addresses that used to be in my address book .... but they are
no longer in my address book ... i want them back. That is my problem.

I can answer this part of your post:
In your Entourage prefs > Mail & News > Compose, uncheck the box for
<Display a list of recently used addresses when addressing messages> and
Entourage will no longer offer suggestions as you begin to type.
