Title: Re: After Jobs' keynote, anyone thinking of switching to Mail?
I checked out the Mail 3.0 Leopard preview today and at least to my eyes it looks like apple is running off the rails (am I the only person that despises most html mail?) at least when it comes to the type of users Entourage attracts. This seems like a real opportunity for Entourage which for my money is still the best mail program on any platform.

My whish list for a better Entourage:

1. Integrate spotlight technology within the program. - Having Spotlight able search the entourage database is fantastic and has made my data vastly more useful, but spotlight speed search needs to be integrated within the program with full boolean search. Also it needs to be integrated properly in the live filter (ie it should live filter partial words separated by spaces instead of considering the space as part of the filter)

2. Better Exchange integration, especially with calendars.

3. Interface enhancement - most importantly we should be able to edit all toolbars (I prefer to edit mine down to the bare essentials). Also the whole interface needs a refresh... it's looking a bit old fashioned.

4. iCal/Address Book syncing was nice, but we need even better integration. Live auto sync that deals automatically deals with duplicates would be ideal. iPhoto integration would be much appreciated as well.

5. Perhaps it's a pipe dream, but I'd love to control font smoothing. For example I'd love to turn off smoothing on fixed with fonts....

6. Smarter SPAM control. Entourage misses more than half my spam.

7. Webkit integration for better HTML rendering.

8. RSS integration (subscribe to feeds and have feeds arrive as email)

9. More mac-like folder views for example when you click on a folder you should see the sum of the items in the folder including the items in enclosed folders.

10. Much improved speed on mail views. Right now they are too slow to useful.
