Recently I noticed something odd was going on with the Entourage Address Book, I was looking for the information for a friend who I knew was in there, and the address was gone.
Odd, I thought, then I found an email from said person and re-entered the address. A few days later it was gone again. Then a few days ago most of the 2600 some odd entries in the address book vanished. I was left with about 30 entries. I had been having some other strange entourage problems, windows controls not activating when the window was brought to the foreground for example, and putting 2 and 2 together guessed data corruption. I rebuilt the database and managed to get back 1800 entries. Luckily I had backed up relatively recently and was able to grab the rest. I can't reproduce the bug (thank god), but my guess is it has something to do with a couple of force quits I've had to do on Entourage recently. I also suspect sync services because even though my sync setting was set to "merge" which should negate data loss, my address book was also emptied out. Anyway my actual question is to ask whether something similar has ever happened to anyone else and whether the problem showed up again after a database rebuild. Everything seems stable now, but I'd rather revert to an old database and lose a few months of email than to keep working with a wonky database and risk losing the whole thing. all best, raul . . . . . . . . . . current show: http://www.nelsonhancockgallery.com text: http://www.mexicanpictures.com/headingeast images: http://www.mexicanpictures.com/projects -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
