Deleted messages will purge themselves after about 24 hours. Personally I don't ever delete AOL mail, I just let it scroll off on its own (which it does after 30 days). There is no quota on your Inbox. But if you insist, consider... Tools > Accounts > (Your AOL Account) > Advanced > Delete Options > Purge Deleted Messages when leaving IMAP folders.
