Peter, I had a similar problem 6 months ago. Can I assume that the problem
Chinese file has been deleted and is in in her "deleted folder". No matter
where it is except if it is in a folder by itself. Do not even put the mouse
on it. Drag another file that she wants to delete to the folder where the
Chinese file is Click on the "good" file then hit Command (Apple) A it will
select all files in the folder then hit "delete". Hopefully the Chinese file
will have been deleted. If so then do the following.

Quit Entourage. Go to Applications folder, click on Utilities folder and
double click the folder "Disk Utility" When it opens click on the Hard Drive
icon on the left and then she will see "First Aid" highlighted. Then at the
bottom click on "Repair Disk Permissions" and let the computer do its work.

I would then restart the computer and open entourage and hope it works fine.

Regards,
Fred Annesley.
