Here is the problem, a user is working on a word 2004 file located on a server, and then tries to save it afterwards, some users get this error: There has been a network or file permission error. The network connection may be lost. (Filename.doc) where filename.doc is the name of the document. Has anyone found a fix for this? I have come up with a few work arounds.
All systems G5¹s Mac OS 10.4.8 and Office 11.2.5 to 11.3.3. Office version doesn¹t matter, just that it is Office 2004. The Server is Xserve G5 sharing volumes from Xraid over AFP. Apple has a tech article on this issue and microsoft has plenty, but the cause mentioned in those articles are different. Elliott
