Out of the blue, my POP account has started acting up.
When I click on a message in the message list, it disappears from the list
and the next message below appears in the preview pane.
The clicked message has disappeared :-(
If I right click and say Open Message, all is well.
My other Exchange and IMAP accounts are fine (ie. you can just click on the
message)
Any ideas?

This type of problem seems to be rampant recently. If you use "Remove
Office" and re-install Office that might fix the problem where the drag to
trash did not. "Remove Office" removes invisible files that a drag does not.

Next step would be to download the combo updater from Apple and run it
again rather than using Software Update. Doing so overwrites potentially
problem-causing files. Several users have reported this fixed some odd
problems they were having with Entourage.

It's hard to say with certainly what is causing this rash of recent install
problems but read this article to see what might be an underlying factor.

I also suggest downloading the script that tell you what version of Office
you have installed. It gives the version number for each Office application,
the component plugin and your OS version. Even if ALL the Office
applications aren't updated each time, the Microsoft Component Plugin, which
isn't an app, will always show the latest update.
