I used Entourage from Office 2001 but when I upgraded to OS X last year, started using Mac Mail because I could send embedded photos with it and couldn't in Entourage. I've since bought a copy of Office 2004 from a list member but haven't installed it yet. I'm now very unhappy with Mac Mail for several reasons and before I make the leap again (I'm a creature of habit and do NOT like to change things, especially technology because I'm almost caveman [cavewoman] in my knowledge of tech things) I want to know if there are any little things that will bug me.

I don't use any of the features I call "fancy" but I'm sure aren't fancy to any of you. I only use it for sending/receiving email but send a lot of photos because I'm into animal rescue. In Mac Mail I can reduce the size of the photos right in the email. Can I do that in Entourage from Office 2004? Can I still select to send the photos as PC friendly?

In Mac Mail, too often the words appear on screen WAY WAY behind what I'm typing and that irritates me to no end. Restarting cures it but that's a hassle. I thought it was my computer, but when I had it in for repairs a few weeks ago the Mac fellow who worked on it said he's heard that a lot from Mac Mail users and it seems inherent in the program.

I don't use the calendar, and don't even know what most of the features are, so I just want a good, reliable, bare bones way to send/ receive lots of email. Will Entourage fill the bill?
